Photo StoriesEvery photo tells a story.
Simplicity is sometimes best.
During the fall of 2020, I was obviously at home a lot due to the pandemic. One thing I would look forward to every day was the beautiful light that would shine through the windows in the late afternoon. Every now and then, I would grab my camera and walk around the house or outside in search of beautiful light. One of those afternoons, I captured this very simple composition of my hand in front of the camera with light streaming through the window. This image always brings back to me the fall, and helps me to remember the power of creativity and simplicity especially during times when everything in the world seems so chaotic. It really is the little things after all. This photo has a special place in my heart.
During the summer of 2019, I took my first trip to the High Sierra in California. I had my older Nikon DSLR camera and a GoPro because my DSLR was not able to capture video. Each day consisted on hikes in the Mammoth Lakes area. Massive views, hidden glacial lakes, sharp peaks, beautiful trees, and fresh air make the Sierra such a special place. The evening of this sunset was one I'll never forget. I captured the most amazing sunset I had ever seen at the Minaret Vista, and that night I saw the Milky Way for the first time. The amount of stars in the sky is something I'll never forget. It's crazy how many memories a single picture can bring back. |
